The entire solar PV upstream value-chain, including equipment and materials suppliers, is set for drastic changes during 2017, ushered in by a perfect storm of events that has impacted on the industry within a space of 2-3 months, according to the latest release of the PV Manufacturing & Technology Quarterly report from the research team of PV-Tech’s parent owner Solar Media, Ltd.

“Crocodile Dundee” pub goes solar in remote Queensland

The remote Queensland hotel made famous in the 1986 Australian movie Crocodile Dundee has gone solar, installing a 6.2kW PV system on the roof of its beer garden that is expected to more than cover the pub’s energy needs.
Climate change must be part of Australia’s electricity system review

On Friday, Australia’s federal and state energy ministers met for an extraordinary meeting following the complete loss of power in South Australia on September 28. The COAG Energy Council announced a wide-ranging independent review to provide advice to governments on a coordinated, national reform blueprint. The review will be chaired by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel.
