Major PV inverter manufacturer Sungrow Power Supply will deliver 205MW of central inverters for a utility-scale solar project in California's Central Valley – its largest project win in North America to date.
While the project developer remains unnnamed, Sungrow said the project is due to be complete later this year, including the firm's newest plug and play 1500V turnkey central inverter solution, the SG2500U.
Sungrow also claimed that its product is one of the first 1500V inverters be listed with the UL 1741-SA certification required for most projects in North America.
Professor Renxian Cao, president of Sungrow, said: "Sungrow is always committed to technical innovation which drives our rapid growth. We will continue to offer better products and solutions to customers globally.”
Sungrow shipped 10.9GW of inverters in 1H of 2017, similar to the 11.1GW shipped for the whole of 2016.
