PV DC isolator, known as level 3 equipment, must go through a certification process which ensures a safe design before they can be ready for the Australian or New Zealand market. Certificates under the EESS can be issued by electrical safety regulators and recognised external certifications schemes (RECS).
Then, all Level 3 in-scope electrical equipment offered for sale must be registered by a Responsible Supplier with the EESS and be marked with the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) in accordance with AS/NZS 4417.1.
All States and Territories recognise EESS and RCM mark as the required marking, except for in NSW.
NSW Fair Trading recognise TUV Rheinland Australia Pty Ltd as one of the approved schemes to issue certification for electrical articles.
