  • Garry Willett
Following an extensive career in wholesale distribution in 2009 Garry joined a top 10 Victorian based PV installation company to set up their Queensland operation. The company was subsequently sold to the countries top energy provider and he remained with them until late 2013 when he joined the National office of one of the top Module manufacturers where he helped grow their distributor business and eventually establishing the brand in New Zealand and managing their Large Scale solar Farm pipeline. In 2017 he became the main contact in Australia for one of the world’s leading manufacturers of central inverters, used in large scale solar farm projects. In 2020 Garry joined Tigo Energy to assist customers interested in adopting Module Level Power Electronics onto their solar systems. There is significantly more knowledge around module performance issues and the long-term effects of exposure in the harsh Australian environment. Solar systems are no longer an install and forget product. To expect them to work flawlessly for 25 years is really wishful thinking. It is only by adding module level optimisation and monitoring that consumers can fully realise their systems full potential. In addition, safety has become a focal point due to rising number of fire events and the Tigo Rapid Shut Down solutions are an excellent way of protecting properties as well as giving owners the ability to render their PV system safe during storms or adverse weather events.
